You can’t argue that there’s no better feeling than walking into your favorite book store, whether your goal is to discover your next read, buy a gift for a friend or family member, or find some quiet peace as you browse through the aisles.
This November you can show your appreciation for your go-to book store with a new campaign that helps promote physical bookstores.
In days like these where stores in general are closing left and right because of online competition, this social media challenge is coming at a good time!
The challenge lasts from November 10th – 16th, and during that time all you have to do is go to any bookstore, and take a picture of the book you are most excited to gift this upcoming holiday season!
People are already taking on the challenge!
Post that picture on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter before the 16th with the hashtag #loveyourbookstore!
Here are the templates you can use for sharing the challenge on Instagram and Twitter, from the “Love Your Book Store” Campaign. Instagram Icon Image via Facebook Inc. Twitter Icon Image via Twitter Inc.
You’ll even be automatically entered to win some book-related prizes!
These are a couple of the prize packs posted online, with more on the way!
When you’ve posted the picture and hashtag, challenge five of your friends to join in and go to their favorite or local bookstore! Keep the campaign going!
The people behind the campaign all work in the publishing industry, and want nothing more than to see the support of their beloved industry’s community!
Dominique Raccah, Publisher and CEO of Publishing Company Sourcebooks, and creator and member of the committee that created the “Love Your Book Store” Campaign had this to say:
Bookstores are amazing and important places for us all culturally, and we know that booksellers help readers discover and share the magic of books. They create communities of readers that make a difference because books change lives. We want to give everyone a way to celebrate their favorite bookstore.
I couldn’t agree more with that statement, and I for one am looking forward to promoting my favorite book store this November! I kind of have my eye on some of those prizes to!
So don’t forget to stop by your book store and be a part of this amazing campaign November 10th – 16th!
