This book is not only by one of the most iconic musical artists in history, but it is such a heartfelt memoir that leads us through Elton John’s life with being a gay man in the industry. Me takes us through his journey of changing his life for the better by getting clean of his addictions and finding the love of his life, David Furnish. This memoir also discusses John’s fatherhood journey and its impact on his life and outlook. This memoir is about Elton opening up about his music, relationships, passions, and mistakes and is a definite must-read.

A Dutiful Boy by Moshin Zaidi

A Dutiful Boy is an inspiring and hopeful memoir about Mohsin Zaidi growing up queer in an extremely strict Muslim household. It follows Zaidi from a very young age figuring out why he feels so different, to having newfound freedom through his adulthood. This memoir is truly inspiring and is all about breaking the barriers of anything holding you back. A book that was definitely created with the intent to change the lives of other kids that were like Zaidi is a very important read.

Becoming Eve by Abby Stein

This memoir follows the story of Abby Stein and how she struggled with being able to truly express her true self because of the way she was raised. Stein was raised as a Hasidic Jew and was poised to become the leader of the next generation of Hasidic Jews. But Stein always knew she was a girl, so she searched for answers through all of her religious texts and more. Finally, she then announced how she was transgender and was exiled from her home, family, and the way of life she grew up knowing. Becoming Eve is all about powerful truths that reveal an extreme amount of the importance of self-discovery.
