In partnership with Random House, Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, founders of Lenny Letter, are creating their own imprint: Lenny Books. The imprint is an offshoot of the newsletter, which brings readers news and personal musings of the dynamic, butt-kicking Lena-Jenni duo. Part writer, part actor, part comedian, and part unflinching feminist activist – the duo intends to take the same ideas of the newsletter and pair them up with up with incredible writers and books that emulate the social culture of Lenny. The new imprint is an extension of Dunham’s current relationship with Random House, which publish her bestseller novel Not That Kind of Girl.

So what can you expect from the new imprint? The answer: all the goodies and oddities you love about Lenny Letter. Dunham and Konner are planning to continue working with many of the emerging voices that have already blasted your email inbox in the newsletter, as well as other witty, talented, and wonderfully enigmatic new writers. Essentially, the imprint aims to take the relevant and varied voice of Lenny Letter from online to on paper, and continue to produce only the most passionate and compelling stories.
In an interview with Buzzfeed, Lena told reporters, “Lenny books will aspire to push the ball forward on the issues that matter to our audience, with wit and style. We hope to see them sticking out of purses and riding public transportation everywhere.”
We can’t wait to carry them along with us! Are you excited for the first Lenny Book?
