According to some sources, they believed the DC universe was doomed when it merged with AT&T back in 2018. Now, two years later, more than a third of the staff is being laid off. Senior Vice President of public strategy and support services, Hank Kanalz is among those being let go, along with Vice President of marketing and creative services, Jonah Weiland. Even editor and Chief Bob Harris is on the chopping block. All of those important people that helped make DC what it is and what it was going to be are no longer apart of the universe they helped create.
Now is a sad time for people to be losing their jobs due to the current state of the world.  Even the DCs in house merchandise manufacture, DC Direct is being let go.  What will happen to all the merchandise? Will it continue to have merchandise? Or will it be run by new people? A source claims this is another way Warner Bros has taken over, since it took over the merchandise of DC collectibles. Now, no one from the DC world will make comment even though there is an upcoming showcase with the stars of DC films and movies. So, in the meantime we have to wait and see what else will happen to the DC Universe.
Fingers crossed these people won’t be out of a job for long.
