Lana Del Rey writes her own lyrics, sometimes accompanied with other lyricists, and the singer reported that she would like to publish a book of poetry and already has a number of poems written. She says:
I have like thirteen kind of long poems that I started binding and I thought, ‘Wow, the pages are kind of stacking up here.’ I mean, it’s easy too with haikus because it’s only three lines so you could have like thirty pages of haikus that’s only like 200 words or something. But I thought they’re kind of like stacking up to look like a real book. So I mean what I’d like to do is sort of self publish but I’m not very good at the distribution side of things.
The singer has been working on her new album called Norman Fucking Rockwell and has recently released two songs, “Venice Bitch” and “Mariners Apartment Complex” on major music sharing platforms. In an interview with Zane Lowe from World Record, Lana confessed that she she would name her future poetry book “Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass” from a line from one of her favorite lines she wrote.
With all the new energy she has, the artist has decided to work towards becoming a licensed pilot and even goes out sailing which has possibly altered her direction in her writing. She even said she has started writing short stories and the process has been completely different from her music.
