Katherine Kellgren

Katherine Kellgren, the Meryl Streep of Audiobooks, Has Died

You might not know her name, but you might recognize her voice. Katherine Kellgren, who voiced nearly 300 audiobooks passed away this past week after struggling with cancer for several years. To her family and friends we extend our deepest condolences.

The award-winning narrator trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and won a variety of awards and accolades for her work, including four Audie Awards, most notably of those for Best Female Narrator in 2016 for Wild Rover No More: Being the Last Recorded Account of the Life and Times of Jacky Faber by L.A. Meyer. Side note, the Bloody Jack series was one of my absolute favorites growing up, and you should definitely check it out. If you like audiobooks, do Katherine a solid and buy hers.

Kellgren’s family have requested that anyone wishing to commemorate Katherine’s life should donate to The Hispanic Federation, a charity which is helping the people of Puerto Rico.
