Jonathan Levine To Direct ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ Series

Director of Warm Bodies, 50/50, and The Wackness, Jonathan Levine is set to direct the upcoming Hulu limited series, Nine Perfect Strangers based on the novel by Liane Moriarty.

Director of Warm Bodies, 50/50, and The Wackness,  Jonathan Levine is set to direct the upcoming Hulu limited series, Nine Perfect Strangers based on the novel by Liane Moriarty. The novel written by Moriarty, who is also the author of Big Little Lies, follows nine strangers who escape their stressful city lives to heal and transform themselves at a boutique health-and-wellness resort. The ten-day wellness retreat is monitored by the resort director Masha, played by Nicole Kidman.

Levine will also executive produce the series, which stars Luke Evans, Melissa McCarthy, Samara Weaving, and more alongside Kidman. The series will be co-written by David E. Kelley, John Henry Butterworth, and Samantha Strauss and co-showrun by Kelley and Butterworth. This comes following Levine’s most recent directorial project, the romantic-comedy Long Shot starring Seth Rogan and Charlize Theron. Nine Perfect Strangers is expected to debut in 2021.
