Thank you for joining us, Joceline. Let’s get started!

Why did you start your Bookstagram?

I started my bookstagram over a year ago because I wanted my own corner of the internet to talk about my love for reading/books, in hopes of finding friends that share the same interests as I do!

Where are you from?

Texas!

What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?

I want my Instagram to bring positivity, love, inclusivity, and joy to everyone who decides to follow me! My page represents a safe space for everyone, regardless of reading or talking about books. I want them to see they should be confident if they want to also create their own social media pages for their hobbies because they don’t know what amazing opportunities it can bring!

Fun Fact About You:

I love to do makeup, and I used to have a YouTube channel where I would upload my tutorials! I also recently obtained my Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Accounting). :)

Favorite Bookstagrammers:

Literally too many to pick! But some of my besties that I absolutely adore are:

@bearssbookss
@sammy_readz

Favorite Books and Authors:

Some of my favorite books are Book Lovers, Yours Truly, Keeping 13, The Seven Year Slip, and The Ex Vows! Some authors would be Emily Henry, Jessica Joyce, Hannah Bonam-Young, Lyla Sage, and Ali Hazelwood.

Fictional Crush:

Too many to name, but as of right now, I’m crushing hard on Lukas Blomqvist from Deep End by Ali Hazelwood!

TBR List:

My TBR list literally grows with each passing day LOL, but some of the books on my TBR are Not Another Love Song, Intermezzo, The Bodyguard, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, and Heartless Hunter!

What’s your special approach to content?

I don’t really have a special approach to content, but I feel what’s always brought attention to my page is the way I like to doodle on my pictures! I feel like it brings a bit of my personality to my posts. :)

A picture of a bookshelf from @bookishlyjoceline, the words "read with me for one week" are written in white on top of the books. Below in tiny print is written in white, "as a mom of 2 with full time job."

Aesthetic / Instagram Page Theme:

I would say a very floral, pink-ish, jellycat, cutesy vibe! :) I also make sure my content is cozy. :)

How often do you post?

I used to post daily, but now I try to post at least twice a week! But that really depends on how much I work during the week and how busy I get with my children.

What does your Bookstagram mean to you?

My bookstagram truly means the world to me! To know that I created this wonderful community full of some of the sweetest and friendliest people I’ve ever encountered has been such a joy in my life!

Favorite Bookstore:

My hometown doesn’t really have any local bookstores, so as of right now, I’ll have to say Barnes and Noble and Half Price Books!

Who would you have supply you with a lifetime of books?

I would die happily if Berkley Publishing would supply me with books forever! They are the publishing house for some of my favorite authors. :)

Author to Take a Selfie With:

Emily Henry!!!! I would probably faint if I ever got to meet her!

Favorite Book Cover:

It’s definitely hard to pick a favorite, but the special edition of Beach Read by Emily Henry has one of the prettiest covers I own. :)

Book You Have Claimed to Have Read That You Didn’t:

None! I’m very honest and transparent when it comes to my reading and sharing my updates, and I have never been dishonest about reading a book I haven’t.

When did you know you had made it as a Bookstagrammer?

For me, not only has it been finding genuine friendships within my bookstagram, but it has also been being able to work with some of my favorite publishers and being part of their influencer teams! It’s such a privilege to be able to be a part of their community — for that, I’ll be forever grateful!

Advice for Aspiring Bookstagrammers:

Don’t worry about what other people think, don’t worry about how many followers you have, and especially don’t compare yourself to others! Be confident in your content creation, and don’t forget to enjoy it while you are creating as well! The most important thing is to make sure it brings you happiness and not feel like it’s a job! :)

A beautiful message! Thank you, Joceline, for sharing your story and taking the time to chat with us! Don’t forget to follow her on Instagram @bookishlyjoceline for more adorable content, and be sure to check out her Goodreads account for more updates on her latest reads!
