“Why spiders? Why couldn’t it be ‘follow the butterflies’?”
We all know that line well; poor Ron Weasley.
And although he’s a fictional character (sorry to say that) his slight case of arachnophobia may not be so far from J.K. Rowling’s world.
The quirky, best-selling author recently tweeted a picture that may make some people’s skin crawl.
I am a strong, independent woman. Also, thanks very much to my husband for dealing with this so I could go through the door it was blocking. pic.twitter.com/nytaftNcIw

J.K. Rowling jokingly tweets a thank you to her husband for coming to the rescue from this frightening sight. However, it’s hard to believe someone like Rowling, who has surpassed all limits in the literary world, could possibly be afraid of a small insect. But in her world, spiders like Aragog and his many children are large enough to chase down a car, devour humans, and fight battles for Hogwarts.
These creatures clearly have some importance in the Harry Potter series. Thankfully, J.K. Rowling doesn’t have to worry about Aragog showing up by her bathroom door anytime soon.
