J. K. Rowling Blocks Fan on Twitter and We Hate to Say It, but That’s Lame

J. K. Rowling has made her position on Johnny Depp’s inclusion in Fantastic Beasts 2 very clear by blocking a fan who questioned the choice on Twitter. On Tuesday, Twitter user @hobbitlindsey wrote:

So if I understand correctly the actor who played Crabbe, a minor character, was fired from Harry Potter for doing drugs. Yet Johnny Depp, who abused his wife, gets a major role in your movies? Correct me if I’m wrong, @jkrowling

By Wednesday, she had been blocked.

Lindsey was quick to clarify that her love of the Harry Potter series has not been effected by the incident, however her respect for J.K. Rowling has.

Lindsey’s original tweet echoed the sentiment of thousands of fans upset by Depp’s inclusion in the franchise, due to allegations of domestic violence made against him by his ex-wife Amber Heard. Heard was awarded $7 million in their divorce settlement, which she donated to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
