Okay, get yourself ready for more Marvel news, for the small screen and the big screen.

Let’s start with the updates before we get to new titles.

Ms. Marvel

It was announced earlier this year that Iman Vellani was to play Kamala Khan in the upcoming show. A quick introspective on the upcoming project was released that gave insight from the author/ producer Bisha K. Ali, the casting process, the directors and team behind the show. It’s so great to see actual Pakistani and Muslim people behind the camera to bring  Kamala’s story to life. She’s an important character and I can’t wait to see the show but it’ll be streaming late 2021. With Kamala and Kate being introduced, do I forsee a Young Avengers team in the future?

Thor: Love and Thunder

For Taika Waititi’s highly anticipated follow up to ‘Thor Ragnorak’ we’ve got some awesome casting news and a release date. It was announced that Christian Bale will be the villain in the movie named Gorr the God Butcher! We’ve got DC cross over here, people and I couldn’t be more ready for it. The movie is anticipated to come to theaters on May 6, 2022, which is still a long ways off but will well worth the wait.

Shang-Chi and the Legends of the ten rings

As we know everything was shut down because of Ms, rona, including production on ‘Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings’. But it has been announced that they have finally wrapped production on the movie and it will be released July 9, 2021. We also have a look at a fuller cast which include Tony Leung as Wenwu, Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, Meng’er Zhang as Xialing, Awkwafina as Katy, Ronny Cheng as Jon Jon, and Florian Munteanu as Razor Fist. A fine looking cast indeed!

Onto brand new and exciting news!

Fantastic 4

You saw that correctly folks. IT’S HAPPENING AGAIN! We are a getting another Fantastic 4 movie and as we all know the past few especially the last attempts were not the greatest. The only info we have is that Jon Watts, the director of the highly successful ‘Spiderman Homecoming’ and ‘Spiderman: Far From Home’ will direct the feature film. The new Spiderman movies were a big hit but it seems like when someone gets their hands on the Fantastic 4 they just fumble the bag. But let’s have hope or at least try to. Oh and I’m completely on board with John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic and Emily Blunt as Sue Storm. They would be perfect!

Iron Heart

We have huge casting news for the new show, ‘Ironheart’ which will star Dominque Thorne as Riri Williams, Iron Man’s protege. She’s a young African American girl from Chicago and was introduced in an animated short, for ‘Marvel’s Rising’ series. She is brilliant and I can’t wait to see her in live action.

Again we have another young superhero in the works. I really do smell a Young Avengers live action team coming on and I can’t contain myself! But it leads to the question if Riri will become the next Iron Man or Iron person. In ‘Spiderman: Far From Home’, Peter Parker has been put in the position to be the next Tony, but he not to be up to the task just yet. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Date of Release: TBD

Armor Wars

This next show, comes at a bit of shock.’ Armor Wars’, will star Don Cheedle reprising this role as War Machine. Not much is known about but it will involve someone getting their hands on Tony’s technology. The only things I think I would find interesting in this show, I think would be how he’s faring without his best friend, some cameos from Pepper and their daughter and possible crossover with Iron Heart! How cute would that be?! Riri could be like: Hey, Unc!” And I’d be here for it!

Date of release: TBD

Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special/ I aM Groot

We’ve got two small pieces of news for The Guardians of The Galaxy franchise. First there will be Holiday special, James Gunn will be back to direct for 2022 and our favorite little Groot is going to star in a series of shorts.

Date of Release: TBD

Secret Invasion

Keeping with the space theme, Samuel L. Jackson will be back as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn’s Skrull Talos in this new show.  In the end credit scene of ‘Spiderman: Far From Home’, we see that the two have become fast buddies. Talos literally took his place for the whole movie while the real Fury was somewhere in the galaxy either working or taking a vacation. Either way, I think it’ll be fun to explore their relationship as well as seeing them go on space adventures. And I would live for a Goose cameo, or another cutie just like him.

I can see it now; Fury, Talos and Goose going on adventures all over the galaxy. I’m fan-girling right now and I need to stop!

Date of Release: TBD

Marvel’s ‘Quantumania’ will be the third movie in the Ant-Man and The Wasp series, directed by Peyton Reed who directed the first town. Everyone is reprising their roles but with some added cast members. Kathryn Newton of ‘Big Little Lies’ fame will play Cassie Lang, Scott’s daughter. Also, we have Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country) as Kang The Conqueror.

The title leads us to believe that we will get more of look at the quantum realm and hopefully we’ll have an explanation to how Scott truly survived there for five years after the snapping until a deus ex machina rat freed him.

Date of Release: TBD

Captain Marvel 2

Brie Larson will return as Carol Danvers in ‘Captain Marvel 2’. No news on the story will be but we will get too see Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau played by Teyonah Parr’s, who will also have a role in’ Wandvision’.

After the…luke warm reception to the first, I have hope on the sequel having better reception. Obviously there is no news on what the premise is about but since, Ms. Marvel will be in it and Monica hopefully we’ll see some mentor, mentee plot, and just catch up with Carol after Stark’s funeral.

Date Released : Nov. 11, 2022

Okay, that is everything! All and the new and all the updates for the Marvel Phase, at least for now.  Be sure to keep up with and of course Marvel for any updates on the shows and movies you are excited about!
