LADbible author Tom Wood wrote an article to announce that the Game of Thrones spinoff series House of the Dragon will be recasting four key actors in the coming episodes.
Due to this series taking place across the span of many years, to best demonstrate the characters’ growth, the younger Targaryens actors will be replaced with older actors. Milly Alcock, who played Rhaenyra Targaryen, is set to be recast by Emma D’Arcy. Alicent Hightower, who was played by Emily Carey, will be recast by Olivia Cooke.
Additionally Nova Fouellis-Mose, who played Laena Velaryon after the time skip, will be played by Nanna Blondell as an adult.
Laenor Velaryon, played by Theo Nate, will be played by John Macmillan.
According to show’s creators, the characters who initially cast as children will be the ones subject to this recast, whereas those who were already adults will appear aged with makeup and silvered hair.
This will be a fascinating development to observe. So stay tuned to find out what happens from here!
