The countdown to the premiere of HBO’s Watchmen is almost over. The new series is confirmed to premiere on October 20th at 9 pm.

The announcement was made on the official Watchmen Twitter page, along with the tagline “Everything Begins.”

 


The series functions as a sequel to the 1980s graphic novel and takes place in the modern day where superheroes are outlawed, the police are forced to hide behind masks, Robert Redford is the president, and the legacy of former superhero Rorschach has led to the formation of a white supremacy group rampaging throughout the country.

 

 

The series stars Regina King, Jeremy Irons and Don Johnson. The series was developed by Damon Lindelof, the creator of The Leftovers and co-creator of Lost.
