Moore’s graphic novel follows a retired Justice League-style team of super vigilantes who are forced out of retirement when someone starts killing heroes. If you’ve seen Zack Snyder’s 2009 film, you know the story.

Moore notoriously despises adaptations of his work (V for Vendetta, From Hell). When Snyder’s Watchmen was being released, Moore told Hero Complex, “And I can tell you that I will also be spitting venom all over [Snyder’s Watchmen] for months to come.”

Still, this should be interesting. HBO has been on a roll lately, and the Watchmen aesthetic would lend itself nicely to that premium cable channel budget. I, for one, cannot wait to see what Dr. Manhattan will look like.
