I’m really hoping there’s someone else, somewhere who hasn’t seen any part of the 2017 adaptation of IT. Because I am also that person, and I have good news.
So far, I’ve been able to survive off of seeing only the ’90’s miniseries in elementary school which, thanks to Tim Curry, was scary enough. It became one of my favorites; the juxtaposition of simple childhood innocence and deep psychological fear is so disturbing… Just like the opening scene of the newest adaptation.

The good news is, those who have somehow not yet seen the new movie, (like me) can see the chilling opening scene of Georgie running down the street into the late afternoon storm, chasing his paper boat along a small stream of rainwater right along the curb, eventually to his doom. Into the sewer it goes and out of the darkness emerges the eerie Pennywise.
So, are you like me and you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet? Here’s your chance! Check it out below. Honestly, I still get the heebie-jeebies no matter how much I love the original.
Yikes times ten. I felt like I was in Georgie’s place for that one. There’s always that moment, no matter how old you are, when a situation doesn’t feel right. It sits in your gut and you know you have to get out, but something holds you still, perhaps fear?… That’s this scene. Now, all I have to do is watch the rest of the two hour movie! But the scares don’t stop; IT Chapter 2 is in the works as we speak. The kids have grown into adults for this one and I’m vowing to see it this time. For now, I’ll enjoy those few sinister minutes.
They’re enough to keep me awake at night.
