'Friends' Thanksgiving

Have the Perfect Friendsgiving, Courtesy of Lauren Conrad!

We all know Lauren Conrad (or L.C., spoken in a Laguna Beach voice) not only for her time on The Hills, but her fashion line, design expertise, and writing career. Now, she gets to add another skill to the list and it’s perfect timing for the holidays!

According to Us Weekly, Conrad is showing us how to create a DIY recipe book for all those taking part in Friendsgiving! Are you having a few friends over and they’re all bringing something delish? Conrad will give you a step-by-step guide on how to take those recipes and make them into your very own personal cookbook to share with family and friends, no publisher needed!

She recommends first to gather everyone’s chosen recipes ahead of time before the celebration. After that, all you have to do is print it, put it together, and design it as you please. “You can pick whatever color or texture you want– maybe something that coordinates with your tablescape,” the author explains. This is going to be for your friends to take home after a lovely dinner together, so make it personal! Add stickers, labels, and any sort of design that will make it special and decorative.

Conrad’s little book of recipes includes some from her mom as well as from her friends. She’ll put together a group email to divvy up who brings what and she usually ends up with a good variety.

Typically how I’ve done it is while inviting everyone and put them all on an email and say I’ll be providing the turkey along with a few side dishes, if anyone has a favorite they’d like to contribute, please let me know. Then it’s first come, first serve basis — people call dibs

This is a really nice idea for sharing recipes with loved ones and it acts as a cute Friendsgiving gift! Stuffing, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce, we are ready for you.
