‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ Nabs Tony for Best Play

It was a big night in the entertainment world last night. The seventy-second annual Tony Awards took place at New York City’s very own Radio City Music Hall. It has already proven to a phenomenal year for Broadway. As book lovers we know it has been and always will be a great year for the Harry Potter franchise. Remember how psyched we were to learn Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was finally coming to NYC? Well, it managed to make us even prouder to be Harry Potter fans last night, as it won award for Best Play!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child had some tough competition this year. Even so, out of the whopping ten nominations it got, it ended up winning six. Six! Others including Best Direction, Best Costume Design, Best Sound Design, Best Lighting, and Best Scenic Design. I think a huge round of applause is in order here.




The show is still on Broadway if you haven’t seen it yet!
