For those who don’t know Kate Bishop from the comic series, she is gifted marksman like Hawkeye and becomes his second/mentee and member of the Young Avengers due to how he impressed he was with her. She came from a privileged life, but as a teenager she was a victim of assault. After that experience, she pours herself into learning self defense, archery, fencing and a lot of other styles of combat. Kate then becomes Hawkeye herself, taking over the mantle with Clint’s bow, arrows, a new purple fit and his blessing.

Bishop was announced to be included in the MCU at the San Diego Comic-con last year but there was no telling who was going to play her. Steinfeld’s casting comes as a welcomed surprised. The picture below was captured on set, showing Steinfeld as Kate Bishop with a little appearance by Lucky the Pizza Dog.

Now, what does this mean for the MCU and MCEU in the future? I’m sure we can expect the emergence of more live action young heroes. With the success of the new Tom Holland Spiderman movies and even Into the Spiderverse (though animated), it seems that MCU and other properties are moving into a new direction, introducing us to new heroes.

With Tony Stark’s Iron Man dead, as well as Natasha Romanoff’s, Black Widow and presumably Steve Rodger’s Captain America, there is plenty of room for a new, younger Avengers team, possibly helmed by Holland’s Spiderman. But, we’ll see once these shows come out and fit into the new MCEU movies, whenever they come out.

What do you think of this news? Are you excited to see Hailee as Kate Bishop in ‘Hawkeye’? How do you feel about the MCU Disney+ shows in general?
