Hackers Threaten to Release ‘Game of Thrones’ Finale

NOBODY PANIC but it looks like the season finale of Game of Thrones will be leaked online.

The hackers responsible for stealing 1.5 terabytes of HBO’s data, including entire episodes of HBO series, cast members’ personal information, and scripts, have threatened to leak the final episode.

Calling themselves ‘Mr Smith,’ the Guardian reports the hackers told Mashable that they have access to “many HBO platforms.” They also said HBO should be “ready” for the leak of episode six, which aired on Sunday, as well as episode seven, which airs at the end of this week.

They also provided Mashable with a list of the usernames and passwords for a number of HBO’s social media accounts, including the main HBO Twitter account.

Last week, hacking group OurMine took control of HBO’s social media, including the Game of Thrones Twitter account.

Last week, it was announced that four individuals had been arrested in connection with the leak of episode 4, ‘Spoils of War.’ However, they were not connected with ‘Mr. Smith.’

Despite previous leaks, ‘Game of Thrones’ continues to surge in popularity. It even broke its own ratings record with ‘Spoils of War,’ which attracted 10.2 million viewers
