Reboots seems to be the thing in the last couple years; everyone wants to take something old and make it new. And, of course, a little better. This time around it’s the classic adaptation, Little Women. Not only are we excited to see a fresh take on this story, but the cast is looking better and better.

Variety confirmed that Greta Gerwig, most recently nominated for an Oscar for her role in Lady Bird, is looking to direct the upcoming film based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel. Columbia Pictures is in charge of this remake and it’s said that stars like Meryl Streep, Timothee Chalamet, Saoirse Ronan, Emma Stone, as well as Florence Pugh are in talks to take on big roles.

Although the cast is mostly up in the air, the team will be testing out multiple actresses opposite Emma Stone within the next week. With a team of successful producers and directors, Columbia is hoping to set this film apart from the 1994 film adaptation along with the BBC miniseries that aired just last year.
We have a feeling this ensemble may be a sure deal as they’re all on their way to wrapping up their current film shoots and projects. We’d love to see Gerwig, Ronan, and Chalamet come together again since their fantastic performances in Lady Bird.
Stay tuned for this one because we have a feeling this adaptation is going to be epic.
