Even if the end didn’t live up to everyone’s expectations, the end of Game Of Thrones was still a very big deal. It was the end of one of the biggest television series ever made. But just because the song of Ice and Fire has concluded, that doesn’t mean that there still aren’t interesting stories to tell within the world of GoT.
We know that there is a Game of Thrones prequel series coming, with Naomi Watts leading the cast. Now, it has been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly that the series has started filming.
Shooting is taking place in Northern Ireland, the main location where the production of all eight seasons took place. Many different locations in the books, including Winterfell, were filmed in Northern Ireland, specifically in Belfast.

The prequel series will take place five-thousand-years before the events of the original series that will trace the origins of both Westeros and the White Walkers. George R.R. Martin is involved, and he promises something completely different from the original story:
“Westeros is a very different place,” Martin said. “There’s no King’s Landing. There’s no Iron Throne. There are no Targaryans— Valyria has hardly begun to rise yet with its dragons and the great empire that it built. We’re dealing with a different and older world and hopefully that will be part of the fun of the series.”
