Hey Upper East Siders (and everyone else for that matter), you’ll never guess who was #spotted as the newest face on board for HBO’s reboot of everyone’s favorite show. Joining classmates Emily Alyn Lind, Tavi Gevinson, Whitney Peak, Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez and Jason Gotay is none other than Jordan Alexander. The Canadian singer and actress is becoming the next Manhattanite caught in the crosshairs of Gossip Girl’s keen eye.

This far from Alexander’s first onscreen performance, having appeared in Sacred Lies and Unbury the Biscuit in the past. Jordan Alexander is a Toronto based singer-songwriter, the voice behind full-length album The Lonely Hearts Club and an array of successful singles. While we know she will be featured in the highly-anticipated reboot as one of the girls at school, that’s where the intel ends. If there is someone who knows more, it’s Gossip Girl.

The series, announced late last year, will premiere on HBO Max in 2021. Like the original (and beloved) series, the inspiration for the stories will be pulled from the books by Cecily Von Ziegasar, which chronicle the lives of New York’s elite, as they navigate love, sex, school, galas, drama, friendship, and trust funds.

Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years.

The more we find out about this reboot, the more excited we are to be reunited with Manhattan’s Kings and Queens. Until we know more, we’ll stick to rereading the OG series. You know you love me.
