The End of Days is nigh and an angel and a demon, Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant looking weirdly like Jarvis Cocker) team up to try and save the human world by keeping an eye on who they believe to be the Antichrist. However, they happen to be watching the wrong child. The real Antichrist is a boy called Adam, who is living a normal life with his group of friends, ‘Them.’
These events were foreseen by a 17th-century witch named Agnes Nutter who was burned at the stake. However a copy of her book of prophecies has been passed down to her descendant Anathema Device, who joins forces with Aziraphale, Crowley, and a member of the Witchfinder Army to stop the Four Horsemen from inciting the Apocalypse.
Adria Arjona, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, and Michael McKean will star alongside Sheen and Tennant.
Terry Gilliam wanted to develop a movie version of Good Omens in 2002 but couldn’t secure enough funding. Last year, Gaiman announced that he would honor a posthumous request from Terry Pratchett and would write the scripts for a TV adaptation of the book.
Gaiman has predicted the show will arrive in February 2019.
