Get Your Library Cards Out: You Can Now Stream Movies With Them

Finished your “Watch-List” on Netflix? Have a New York Library Card? If so, then get ready to sit to return to your screens.

 

Continue the statistics found by Pew Research Center where Millennials were found to use the library the most out of any generation, and stream the library’s collection on Kanopy according to Gothamist.

 

Kanopy will provide access to over 30,000 films, including the revered Criterion Collection, which houses films from David Lynch, Charlie Chaplin, and several other acclaimed directors.

Besides the Criterion Collection, you can browse through the Kanopy staff picks, which include bookish films like “I Am Not Your Negro,” “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” and “Watership Down.”

This service has been available to LA library card holders since July, and expanded to New York this August on the 4th.
