'The New Mutants'

Get Your First Look at ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ Director’s X-Men Horror Movie!

Josh Boone is following up his hit adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars in a pretty unexpected way. His next project, The New Mutants, is essentially a horror movie set in the X-men universe. Look out, Deadpool, there’s a new kid in town…a bunch, actually.

The New Mutants follows the story of a group of young mutants who are trapped in a secret facility and must escape for their lives. The film will star Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane (Game of Thrones), Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik (The Witch, Split), and Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) as Cannonball.

Although it’s essentially a superhero-horror movie, it’s not totally mind-boggling for Fox to recruit the guy who directed The Fault in Our Stars for this one. The New Mutants promises some smart teenage angst, budding young romances, and some serious tugging on your heartstrings. Also, Boone’s making a name for himself as a horror director, having just signed on to adapt Stephen King’s The Talisman.

The New Mutants hits theaters on April 13, 2018!
