‘Game of Thrones’ Wraps Filming for the Final Time

After eight seasons, Watchers on the Wall reports that Game of Thrones is done filming – forever. Though the cast members attended a wrap party in Belfast on July 1st, filming continued until the sixth.

Maisie Williams (who plays fan-favorite Arya Stark) appears to have been among the last actors on set. She posted a photo on her Instagram of white sneakers splattered with (hopefully) fake blood, and the caption:

“goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i’ve had. here’s to the adventures to come #lastwomanstanding #barely#immasleepforthenextfouryears#justkiddingidontsleep”

The main action for the last few weeks of filming took place in Belfast at the King’s Landing set – parts were even burned down. There’s no telling how long we’ll have to wait to see the product of these months of intense filming; season eight currently has no release date, but most expect it to release in 2019.
