The final season of Game of Thrones promises to be the biggest one yet. With a story as epic as this one, a lot goes into production in order to make the best show possible. HBO will give fans of the series a glimpse of how the show is made.
A two-hour documentary about how the series is made will air May 26th, one week after the series finale. Titled Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, it will dive deep into the making of season 8 from beginning to end. According to HBO, the documentary is “an up-close and personal report from the trenches of production, following the crew and the cast as they contend with extreme weather, punishing deadlines and an ever-excited fandom hungry for spoilers.”
“Much more than a ‘making of’ documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world – and then have to say goodbye to it.”
The film will be directed by British filmmaker Jeanie Finlay, who was given “unprecedented access” to the production.
In addition to a documentary, a prequel series set 1000 years before the events of GOT is in development.
