Final ‘Carry On’ Novel Gets Release Date

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is here! Well… almost here. Rainbow Rowell, announced on her instagram last week the release date for the third book in the Carry On trilogy! The first book was released in 2015, and it was first mentioned in Rowell’s stand alone novel, Fangirl. Then last fall the sequel Wayward Son was released and now the third installment, which is titled Any Way the Wind Blows will be released on July 6, 2021!

*MINOR SPOILERS*
Rowell, even gave us the scoop on the plot. According to Rowell, the third and final book is about Simon, Baz, Agatha, and Penelope and how they’re going to move forward following the events of Wayward Son. Simon is trying to decide if he wants to still be apart of the Mage world, and if he not, what about Baz? While Baz is struggling with both of his families and not having anyone to talk to about what he recently discovered about vampires. Penelope, having smuggled an American Normal into London, now doesn’t have any idea what to do with him. Agatha, meanwhile, is just fed up with everything. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? Simon and Baz remind me of Harry and Draco. How awesome would it be if they were in a relationship right?
This is going to be quite an adventure for these four friends. Rowell even stated how the first book is about the chosen one, and last book is about endings and how to move forward without letting past traumas define who we are. Such a deep ending to an amazing trilogy. Who else can’t wait until summer 2021?
