Ever wish you could binge-watch movies? Well, Netflix is about to make that wish come true by releasing the Fear Street trilogy during three consecutive weeks!
The movies will be based on the series of the same name by R. L. Stine, which takes place in the fictionalized city of Shadyside, and follows average teenagers as they encounter malignant, sometimes paranormal, adversaries. The first installment of the movie series, Fear Street Part 1: 1994, will be released on the streaming platform on July 2, with Part 2: 1978 coming on July 8 and Part 3: 1666 on July 16.
Fear Street Part 1: 1994 will star Stranger Things actor Maya Hawke, Kiana Madeira, Olivia Scott Welch, Benjamin Flores Jr (Nickelodeon’s The Haunted Hathaways), Julia Rehwald, Fred Hechinger (The Woman in the Window), Ashley Zukerman (HBO’s Succession), Darrell Britt-Gibson (Judas and the Black Messiah), Jordana Spiro (Netflix’s Ozark), and Jordyn DiNatale. For Part 2, Madeira, Welch, Flores, Zukerman, Spiro, and DiNatale will return and Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Emily Rudd, Ryan Simpkins (Revolutionary Road), McCabe Slye, Ted Sutherland, Gillian Jacobs (Netflix’s Love, HBO’s Girls), and Chiara Aurelia will be joining the cast. Madeira, Zukerman, Jacobs, Welch, Flores, Britt-Gibson, Sink, Rudd, Slye, Rehwald, Hechinger, and Spiro, will also return for Part 3 and will be joined by actors Elizabeth Scopel and Randy Havens.
Leigh Janiak, who directed the franchise, said, “We filmed all three Fear Street movies over one crazy, bloody summer.” She added, “It’s a dream that audiences now get to experience the story in the same way — back to back to back, with only a week of waiting in between. I can’t wait to welcome everyone into the world of Fear Street in 1994, 1978 and 1666!”
It’s worth mentioning that the movies will be R-rated, so parental guidance is advised for younger watchers.
