Fantastic Beasts’ Newest Magical Creature Drops Hints at Chinese Wizarding School

Potter fans are excitingly awaiting the next installment of the Fantastic Beasts series Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald, and the latest piece of news is that J.K. Rowling is currently writing the script for Fantastic Beasts 3, and that this script may include a Chinese Wizard School, a school which has yet to be mentioned among the eleven named wizarding schools known to Muggles.

According to the site Wizards and WhatNot, while promoting Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Rowling released some information about one magical creature that might seems to hint at the third installment taking place in China. Rowling stated that the second film will include the Chinese magical beast known as the Zouwu.

The Zouwu is a prominent part of Chinese mythology and is described as a five-colored cat the size of an elephant. In the newest Comic-Con trailer it looks as if the adventurous magizoologist Newt Scamander is trying to contain the beast from running rampant on the streets of Paris. If Newt ever catches the Zouwu maybe he will try to return the magical creature back to its home in China.

Also, there are various wizarding schools across the world that will probably never be seen or given more attention in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts movies. For right now there are four schools without any names and three more movies to go. I would love to learn more about these schools whether in the movies themselves or in a small story on Pottermore and even though we have a “good” amount of information on Hogwarts it would be seen the actual Durmstrang or Beauxbatons on the big screen. In actuality, seeing any of the other wizarding schools would be a sight to see but I guess for now a Muggle can only dream.
