Harry Potter‘s famed Evanna Lynch opened up about her intimidation from her trio of co-stars on her first meeting with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint on set.
Years have passed but the Irish actor still remembers the overwhelming days when she joined the movie series in the fifth installment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which was released in 2007. In a US Weekly interview, she revealed her nervousness with her co-stars to the point of rehearsing conversations in the car:
“Emma was always so nice to me and made an effort to get to know me and make me feel at home, which was a huge deal coming from her. And because I was such a big Harry Potter fan, I was very nervous around those three and intimidated by them…And I used to be in the car on the way to set, kind of rehearsing conversations I’d have with them. And obviously, the conversations never worked out like that. I was so nervous.”
While reflecting on the time she worked on the set, she said that “we’d have breaks and we’d be off getting to know each other and playing games and stuff.” The final day of filming scenes for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 brought “a sense of joy, euphoria, sort of tinge of sadness” for her. “It was just nice to feel like part of a team, part of a family. And when they said cut everyone hugged each other.”
