Halle of @hallerreviews
Hi Halle! Let’s start our interview!
Where are you from?
East Coast Virginia.
When and why did you start Bookstagram?
Reading initially became an outlet for me after I had my daughter in 2020, and I struggled with a lot of postpartum anxiety. I fell in love with books again, and my husband convinced me to start sharing my recommendations with others!
How would you describe your account’s aesthetic/why did you choose it?
Is it lame for me to say that I don’t think I have an aesthetic at all? But if I had to describe it, I’d say simple and straightforward. Most of my photos are just me holding books/or books on my coffee table in my reading room!
What are some books on your 2024 TBR list?
I’m really excited to start Throne of the Fallen by Kerri Maniscalco as well as the third book in the Gods and Monsters Series by Amber V. Nicole.
Any fun facts about yourself that your followers may not know?
I used to work in Esthetics and skincare is a huge passion of mine!
What are some of your favorite books/series?
Oh my goodness, how can I possibly choose….. Also, these change daily, but at the moment, I’m obsessed with the Spearhead Lake Series by E.L. Stevens, the Gods and Monsters Series by Amber V. Nicole, From the Embers by Aly Martinez, Bone Island by Nicole Fiorina, and the Savage Lands Series by Stacey Marie Brown. (The list could go on and on).
What are you currently reading? How are you liking it?
I’m currently reading The Summer You Found Me by Elizabeth O’Roark, and I’m in a love-hate relationship with it at the moment!”
What authors would you love to meet?
I would love to meet Sophie Lark, Aly Martinez, Devney Perry, and Nicole Fiorina!
What does Bookstagram mean to you?
Bookstagram means so much to me. It’s been a creative outlet, a means to meet wonderful new friends online and in person, and a place to share my passion.
Who are some of your favorite Bookstagrammers?
(And so many more!!)
Do you have a favorite bookstore where you’re from?
Novel Grounds just opened up in my town, and I’m obsessed!!
Any advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers?
Just be genuine. From my experience, Bookstagram has been such a lovely place for the most part. Share your likes, dislikes, and even parts of yourself, and as long as you’re kind about it, you will gain a whole community of people wanting to know you!
A big thank you to Halle for interviewing with us! Halle tells Bookstr readers not to be scared to start their own account, as it’s a wonderful community to grow as a reader yourself.
