‘Cowboy Bebop’ Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Fan-Made Anthology

Cowboy Bebop is one of the most beloved anime shows of all time. Shinichirō Watanabe cult classic has been cherished and remembered for years even after the series came to an end in 2003. Now, twenty years later, fans have made it their mission to pay tribute to this very well written and exciting story about bounty hunter, cowboys, and the vast amount of space these parties travel and inhibit.

While not a continuation, the anthology aptly named The Real Folk Blues is made by a variety of fans, artists, and professionals who show just how influential this particular series was. Creators and artists from projects as big as the Pretty Deadly series and even The Legend of Korra have all dedicated certain comics, essays, poems, drawings and more in this 130-page fan-tribute. While some focus on creating their own side-stories to the anime, others simply put into words how monumental this show really was.

If you or a friend are die-hard fans, this is the perfect gift. However, be warned, the anthology doesn’t release until February. In order to pre-order your copy, be sure to check out the Kickstarter to reserve your own copy. So far, a PDF version of The Real Folk Blues will cost $13 while a hardcover version will be set for $27. Finally, we’ll get more about Spike, Jet, and more. But more importantly, this also means we will be getting more of Ein the intelligent Welsh Corgi!
