Contemporary Reimagining of ‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ Coming to Netflix

It seems like almost every week Netflix announces a new series or film based on a beloved book that we just can’t wait for. Not that we’re complaining, because we love seeing our favorite books on the streaming service. And a brand new adaptation has just been announced that has us all hyped.

Netflix has ordered The Baby-Sitters Club to series. The ten-episode first season will be a contemporary reimagining of the classic series. The series comes from Walden Media, the producers of the Chronicles of Narnia movies (which are also being turned into a Netflix series).

The original series follows several different women who run their own business called The Baby-Sitters Club. It follows a specific woman in each novel as they deal with the problems of adolescence while babysitting on the side. With over 100 novels in the current series since its debut in 1986, the series is still popular to this day.

This will be the third adaptation of The Baby-Sitters Club after a short lived television series on HBO in 1990 and a feature film in 1995.
