Every Star Wars fan has a special place in their heart for Carrie Fisher. She’s the kick-ass princess who fought alongside the Jedi to defeat the Empire. Her romance with Han Solo felt authentic, deep, and free from sexist norms. And of course, she had one of the most famous kisses of all time- she smooched her brother before they realized they were related.

On top of her legendary performance in Star Wars, she also wrote many books: Postcards from the EdgeSurrender the Pink, The Best Awful, and Wishful Drinking. Her most recently published work, The Princess Diarist, is her eighth book. It made a huge splash when it came out, just this past November. The memoir takes from Fisher’s 1976 diary, while she was filming Star Wars, and discusses some shocking and taboo things- including her affair with Harrison Ford. ‘The Princess Diarist’… is an unflinching, sometimes painful, sometimes hilarious look inside the mind of a 19-year-old actress in the throes of a Hollywood locationship,” writes Telegram. Fisher’s final work is as raw, hilarious, and unfiltered as the star herself.

While Fisher is not famous for her writing, much of her career was spent writing. According to People she went “unaccredited for films like The Wedding Singer, Hook, and Sister Act.”

Fisher’s passing comes as a shock to the the world. She recently made a comeback with the Star Wars series revival. At only 60, her future held so many opportunities and accomplishments waiting to be fulfilled. She just received a nomination for the 2016 Saturn Award for best supporting actress for her role in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awaken. Her scenes for Star Wars Episode VIII have already been show. As we all know, the sci-fi fantasy series is coming back strong in the 21st century. It is a true shame that Fisher will not be able to participate in the future of Star Wars.
