There are some real hard-core Bruce Springsteen fans out there; take this father who blamed his daughter’s tardiness on Mr. Springsteen (and compared him to God in the process). For those rock fans familiar with Springsteen, and his iconic single Born in the USA, prepare yourself for the singer’s upcoming autobiography: Born to Run. Simon & Schuster confirmed that that the Freehold, New Jersey born-and-raised star, who has been working on his autobiography for seven years, will have his book released on September 27th.
In the press release, Jonathan Karp, publisher of Simon & Schuster, asserted, “readers will see their own lives in Bruce Springsteen’s extraordinary story, just as we recognize ourselves in his songs.” According to the statement, Born to Run will chronicle Springsteen’s early life in Freehold, New Jersey, his personal struggles which influenced his music, his “relentless drive to become a musician”, and the creation of the E Street band.

In the book, Springsteen comments, “Writing about yourself is a funny business…but in a project like this, the writer has made one promise, to show the reader his mind. In these pages, I’ve tried to do this.”
