Breaking Down the Latest ‘WandaVision’ Trailer

No friends, the title isn’t a part of some trippy alternate reality! We’re actually (and finally) discussing a solo trailer for WandaVision; however, if I am hallucinating, please don’t wake me. If you’re like me, that means for a few days straight your timeline was consisting only of the highly anticipated Disney+ show; so now that the general public has finished geeking out, let’s break down what we know, check back on our predictions and fangirl over all the trippy details! Let’s go!

So let’s get the formalities out of the way: WandaVision is one of the three original shows within the MCU specifically curated for Disney+. It stars the self-titled Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) and Vision; with these mind bending events occuring after the events of Avengers: Endgame. One look at the trailers and it’s clear there’s nothing like WandaVision in the MCU, or even on Disney+. It’s often described as a mashup between a classic sitcom, MCU show, and all around mind trip; the trailer showcases that beautifully.

Let’s address the elephant in the room: How is Vision alive?! The last time fans saw him in Infinity War it wasn’t looking too good for our favorite android. However, now he looks healthy as ever; my mind is officially bent folks. In the trailer, the theory of Wanda and Vision existing in an alternate reality becomes more concrete. Their peaceful suburban life interrupted when their neighbors ask about their history, and everything goes haywire. It would not only explain how they’re able to exist in the same reality (cause you know Vision is dead) but how they’re able to fluctuate throughout various iconic sitcom eras.

Wanda has both the powers to create alternate realities and the motivation: losing Vision, the way that she did, had to be one of the most traumatic experiences ever. Not to mention we saw a glimpse of Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and more clips of the twins.

WandaVision is no doubt leading the pack when it comes to the upcoming original MCU shows; it’s rumored to be dropping in December (happy holidays to me!). Are you excited as I am?
