Why did you start your Bookstagram?

January 2019

Where are you from?

All over! Currently living in Atlanta, though I also call Boston home. Though, I’m originally from southern Connecticut.

What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?

I’d love for my little Bookstagram to bring Joy in reading and connections throughout the bookish community.

Fun Fact about you?

I’ve moved over 20 times! Hoping to “settle” somewhere, at some point ????

Favorite Bookstagrammers?

SO many! Here are a few favorites (I wish I could name everyone!) @michellereadsbooks, @agrayreads, @mentallybooked, @peachesreads, @books.are.lit

Favorite Books and Authors?

Sally Rooney is a go-to for me, especially Conversations With Friends. Karen Russell is a new favorite, as well. I’ve thoroughly been enjoying finding myself lost in her short stories. I’ve recently loved and devoured The Vanishing Half, The Two Lives of Lydia Bird, and All Adults Here.

Fictional Crush?

Gus from Beach Read by Emily Henry!

TBR List?

Oh gosh, the list is ever growing. Currently Godshot, Florence Adler Swims Forever, and Morningside Heights are at the top of my list.

What’s Your Special Approach to Content?

I like to create my photographs with my content in mind. I like to know what story I’m telling through each and every image – this is also something I speak about in my photography workshops. It helps make content creation nearly easy as pie.

Aesthetic / Instagram page theme?

Light, welcoming, community-focused, and vibrant.

How often do you post?

5-6 times per week

What does your Bookstagram mean to you?

My Bookstagram account has become so much more than an Instagram account. It’s become a community of fellow readers who enjoy connecting through books; a medium for forming relationships with authors and publishing houses; and a space where creativity runs free.

Favorite Bookstore?

Brookline Booksmith – a favorite from my days in Boston.

Author to take a selfie with?

Sally Rooney

Favorite book cover?

Commonwealth by Ann Patchett

Book you have claimed to have read that you didn’t?

None! I never fib about books I haven’t read.

When did you know you had made it as a Bookstagrammer?

I’m not sure that I’ve had this epiphany yet, ha! I’ll have to keep an eye out for when it happens.

Favorite fandoms?

I’m not certain that I’m a part of any particular fandom, though I’ve become a recent (read: big!) fan of the Bromance Book Club series.

Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers?

Have fun with it! Get creative; enjoy the process of creating; read for enjoyment, not for speed.

Additional bookishness?

I’ve always been an avid reader, less the few years that I was in grad school.
