Bookish Tweets To Start Off October – And Haunt Your Home

Happy October, my bookish tweeters! And now that I think about it, isn’t this month the perfect time to call you all my bookish tweeters? Only, because of COVID-19, we may have to switch things up a bit when it comes to trick-or-treating… but bookish tweeting is something you can do all year round, so why not do it while shoving a fistful of candy in your mouth?! (I would not recommend that if you know what’s good for you…)

Anyway, for this piece – consisting of tweets dating back ten whole days ago – we will be having our usual seven-tweet meal, along with a few extra tweet-treats at the very end for making it all through to the end – plus, these tweets were just too good to pass up! So, without further ado, here’s to start off this month – and yes, I am aware that yesterday marks the first of the month, but I decided to hold off until SparkNotes pumped out a few more goodies, and given what we’ve got, I do not regret it a bit… (And it is Friday!)

Make Them Remember You

You know when you’re reading a book, or watching a show or movie, there is that one line that really sticks out to you? And in many cases, a lot of other fans feel the same way. Try this one on for size…

This tweet may be similar to one from my last piece, but you gotta admit: that is a pretty memorable line!

Call Me By Another Name: The Great Gatsby Edition

Generally, you may know your books as they were when they were published, but I’ll bet you don’t even know them as they were in the middle of production, or in the writing/editing process, or just merely ideas in the authors’ heads! In fact, some books were going to go under another title, like this one for example…

Aside from only a few biography books on F. Scott Fitzgerald, we’ll never really know what was going though his mind when he decided to call his classic Roaring 20s novel The Great Gatsby, so I guess we just have to live with that…

A Mutual Effort

You know you hate it when you’re in a relationship with someone and you feel like you’re pulling all the weight while they just kick back and relax…

Exactly! If they needed to go back with your help and expected to get all the credit themselves, they shouldn’t have left by following you out in the first place! It’s about time you stood up for yourself…

One Against… Very Many

You may have had a time in your life when you thought that everybody was against you, like maybe for having an opinion or belief about something that not everyone agreed with…

Maybe when you make an innocent comment that their togas and sashes made them look fat?

Just My Type!

When you’re tired with the kind of partners you keep getting whenever you try getting yourself out there to date…

Hey, this month is a new one for a fresh start in the dating world – sure, we have to maintain six feet apart and wear masks in public, but still – and luckily for you, it is October, which will bring this fellow out of the woodwork in no time at all!

A Whale Of A Struggle

Whenever you feel alone in your personal problems, just remember: we all have issues to worry about, some far worse than others…

At least be grateful that you don’t have to kill an enemy in the form of a giant whale while putting anyone else in danger in the process!

Thanks For Calling!

When you’re just starting your own Hero’s Journey and waiting for the Call to Adventure like…

There’s nothing like that kind of reminder to get out there and make something of yourself!

And now, for making it all the way through: on with the bonus tweets!

Bonus Tweet #1: Promote Yourself Much?

Just being a bit meta here for a few seconds, but you know how almost all these bookish tweets are made of fantabulous SparkNotes content? Well…

Needless to say, this tweets piece has been brought to you by SparkNotes!

Bonus Tweet #2: Killing Two Birds With One Stone: An Off-Page Conversation

In case you were wondering during those times when after a character makes a stupid mistake, they go off and talk to their friend about it off-page

Who knows what Darcy was thinking when he did this? Maybe he felt he should point out this fact while also declaring his desire to marry her despite this – or perhaps even because of it…

Bonus Tweet #3: A Shorter Trip Than Expected

When you’re back home from a trip far sooner than anyone ever thought you would be…

…only for the ones who sent you on the trip in the first place, they thought you were taking more of a permanent holiday – and no, they wouldn’t be expecting postcards from you either.

Hope that one was enough to haunt you at night as well as your home for the whole month long!
