Bookish Tweets To Ring In The New Year

Happy New Year and New Decade!

For all of us bookworms, a new year can mean mainly – but not only – one thing: a new year to read more books! And this is even the case for people out there who just need to pick up a fresh new read now and then, whether to not let their literary gaze get too rusty or to welcome a more productive way to spend their time, as books strive to inform as well as entertain and more often than not, both at the same time!

So, to kick off the year right but not sure exactly where – or which books – to start, here are some bookish tweets to get you pumped for this new year – and new decade – as well as keep you going down that reading rabbit hole. And maybe you might start off with some of these books on the list…

Pimp Your Bookshelves

Which avid book-collector – myself included – wouldn’t love some tips about how to organize their bookshelves? As if I couldn’t love Penguin Random House enough, the combo-publishing company between Penguin and Random House decided to create a Book Hack web series, starting off with a vid guide on how one with a lot of books, with or without colorful spines, can rearrange their books in the way that works for them!

Whether to get to their books more easily or just for decoration, this is the kind of bookish hack that we should keep in mind! It’s as if PRH read our minds… If there’s the space, then there’s a way, and if there isn’t, then make the space!

Your Wish Has Been Granted

Never think that your heroes don’t have time for you because this publishing house certainly did in answering someone’s bookish wish: on Twitter, someone going by the username @kzabrekker put this out…

And I couldn’t agree more, though the book’s summary would still make me go and get the book if it were compelling enough to me. Nevertheless, this user does make a strong case for the fanfic tags, half of which strongly appeal to me personally!

Anyway, their answer came in the form of Penguin Teen, as the company responded with this…

The company suggested the best books that would go by these fanfic tags! Bookish dreams can come true when one of your fave publishers gives you book recommendations based on your fave romance lit tropes!

In that case, according to my tropes of choice, I would certainly check out The Queen’s Assassin and Always, Never, Yours, as well as become a much more frequent visitor on the fanfic sites…

You Do You… In The Spirit Of Reading

Everybody reads in different ways, and we bookworms shouldn’t fight each other on our preferred methods. We’re still taking in our knowledge by choice by the end of the day: whether it’s the old-fashioned way – by the physical book, which is my own preference – or other ways…

Read however you like, just make sure that if you do decide to go by Morse code, you take plenty of detailed notes so you don’t forget a single detail…

Embrace The Quiet

Calling all introverts (myself included): not sure if you remembered, but over a week ago on January 2 was World Introvert Day! And to celebrate, Crown Publishing decided to tweet out a post on Susan Cain’s well-known Quiet book – a book that is all about introverts…

Now, I was already familiar with Susan Cain and her book because of the TED talk she gave about “The Power Of Introverts,” a talk to which I related all too well, but I didn’t even know that it was World Introvert Day last week when this was posted on Twitter, yet I got Susan Cain’s book literally just days before! So, seeing this made me really glad that I got the book when I did, at long last!

So, whether or not you were aware of this occasion, take the time to embrace your introversion, while throughout the year and years to come, change the world in your own way with what you have within you…

New Year, New Decade, New Leaf For Reading…

Finally, the last post with which I’ll be leaving you would be this, also from Crown Publishing…

Here’s to another year dedicated to reading and another decade to define with the greatest books – and book adaptations – that are yet to come. Pick up your next read and do some – if not all – of the following: be intrigued, be inspired, be obsessed, and don’t let anyone disturb you or tell you differently.

Here’s this for a resolution: in being the you that you want to be, you can always find yourself in a new book…

Happy Reading!
