Bookish Tweets To Ring In A Better Year, Chapter Two

Hey there, my fellow bookish tweeters, I’m baaa-aaack!  Here is the second part to my previous tweets-piece, a.k.a. the second half of the overall bookish tweets-piece to ring in the new year, which consists of all the remaining tweets from last December… However, never fear: for the first tweets-piece of 2021 tweets will soon be here within the next few days!

Anyway, without further ado, let us ska-doo…

99 Projects, None Of Them Done

Whether last year or even in the years before, you probably have started special projects with the intention to finish them but instead have stopped some part of the way through to start a whole new project that seemed more interesting…

Oh, did I say “project”? I meant to say “problem,” so ummm… whoopsie!

Who’s Your Daddy?

Growing up, it’s hard for any of us to grasp exactly what our caretakers – parents or guardians – are truly thinking… In fact, many had to have grown up without knowing their birth parents ever. But I seriously doubt that anyone in the modern age had grown up like this…

Get that loner some therapy on their daddy issues or we’ll all be in big trouble!

(By the way, this is certainly not the first John Mulaney meme-in-a-tweet you’re going to see in this whole piece…)

Both One In The Same

I’m sure a lot of business-owners can relate to this happening to them…

Looks like they’ve both got some stiff competition out there, and that was before last year when the two had been cursed with “a plague on both [their] houses”!

Both One In The Same?

You always have to be careful not to under- or over-buy for someone when getting gifts for your loved ones; overwise, you could be looking at an instance such as this one…

…though perhaps that’s only in terms of having just one of those gifts eventually getting utilized while having the other be rendered useless… unless – and this is just a suggestion – one were to get the watch back by donating blood! (And yes, this is the second “Gift of the Magi” tweet I had referenced in the previous piece.)

One In A Million

I’m sure there was a time in everyone’s life when they felt so confident about what they’re about to do that they get overconfident about their actions…

I mean, if you really think about it, where on earth would you find such a man? Oh wait… almost anywhere nowadays!

One In A Million?

Speaking of Shakespeare-related tweets, I’m sure anyone can relate to this…

Either we have that friend who likes to point out these things while watching high-cultured films, or we are that friend… (I personally happen to be both!)

A Tale As Old As Time

We all know the story: person A secretly likes person B, but A disguises their true feelings by bullying B, then in the end, in one way or another, the truth comes out, and B is hit with it…

I can only imagine what the story of how the two met would go when telling it to their child, C!

Bourne Back Ceaselessly into the Past… (Really?)

Remember the days when we couldn’t wait for 2020 to be finally over? Here’s just a snapshot comparison of how we were then and how we are right now at this moment…

Don’t worry: the year is still young, so hopefully the toughest times we’ve faced are behind us… “Can’t repeat the past?” Fine by me!

A New Leaf

Speaking of moving forward into a new – and hopefully much better – era, it’s very important to set new goals for ourselves – and yes, of course I would be talking about making New Year’s Resolutions. While everyone’s may vary, some common goals to achieve would be to exercise more, try new things, travel more (once it’s safe to do so again), and even makeover yourself…

That’s the spirit! Just try not to be too confident in this new persona of yours…

Who’s The Weirdo Now?

I can only imagine what the life of a New York City cab driver is like. They’ve had to deal with all kinds of people in the backseat, like quiet and polite tourists, loud and rude businesspeople, and even the more interesting city-goers like this one…

I mean, it seems like a simple inquiry to answer, don’t you think?

One More Thing We Didn’t Want…

You know how in a story, there are just some plot holes or loose ends that are left uncovered or untied-up? Isn’t it the worst when the author doesn’t take the time to flesh these things out more? Now, check out this comparison IRL…

And in case you’re like me and you don’t recall that part in Macbeth

Now, that would be the kind of buzz to come out of last year we neither asked for nor necessarily wanted; the buzz we did end up wanting came in the form of a fly on someone’s head during an important debate…

A New Leaf?

Every January, it’s perfectly normal to reflect on past years to find what went right, what went wrong, and what you can do this point on to improve yourself – and yes, this does circle back to Resolutions! Just visualize how you want things to look this year, and you’ll be halfway there…

Actually, you know what? Maybe after reading this, stand up, take a walk, and clear your mind!
