Bookish Tweets To Cap Off June (And Kick Off Summer)

Hello and happy (official) summer, my fellow bookish tweeters! As this month of June closes, the season of summer opens, why not make the most of it by basking in this long-awaited batch of bookish tweets? And after doing so, get a tan, have an ice cream, take a dip in your pool – and hopefully just your pool – and dive into the summer we have ahead of us!

Also, on – or even before – this year’s 4th of July, which falls on a Saturday this year, be on the lookout for my very special 4th of July bookish tweets piece. It will surely color you red, white, and blue once you read it!

With all that said, let’s get to it!

The Urge Just Hits You

You know when you’re doing something really important, and all of a sudden, you start thinking about someone, which stops you from doing that important thing, and you just can’t stop?

If only Bart were labelled “Aphrodite,” as this commenter pointed out…

…then it would be all too accurate for Sappho! Don’t stress, Sapph: it happens to all of us! Don’t make sure you don’t get too hurt from it – be it emotional or physical…

Live Vs. Choose

When you ignore everyone’s warnings about doing something and you do it anyway because you’re your own individual with your own freedom of choice…

Sometimes though, it’s good to go along with the crowd, especially if it could save your life!

Here We Go Again!

This is perhaps my favorite one on this list – and EVER! In fact, it’s so brilliant, I don’t even need to give it an introduction because as the saying goes, a picture – in this case, this tweet by itself – says a thousand words…

And the outfit Steve is wearing here isn’t doing him any favors… This tweet is so great that even the Stranger Things account got in on the action…

So my fellow Steve and Dustin fans, dare I say: Steve is Dustin’s father confirmed?! And if you really think about it, wouldn’t each season of Stranger Things count for each Greek/Roman epic by Homer (and Virgil)? I honestly would not be surprised…

Better Call Dante!

You know when you’re in a tight situation and you desperately need someone to come get you out of it, no questions asked? Well, here’s someone you can put on your list who will surely come through for you at a moment’s notice…

In fact, even better than Dante, you know whom this would really be a job for?

Don’t tell me you haven’t been thinking the same thing while reading this tweet…

An Ode To The Tossed-Aside

This is for all the ladies who ever felt unappreciated, mistreated, insecure…

…or accused on faulty ground (via your lover’s best friend) and lacking in proper representation for a lawyer to help defend yourself. In any case, just know that you are heard and aren’t alone.

The Go-To Spot-Finder

Whether you already do or still need to, you must have that one person in your squad who knows all the right spots in town – or even on their hands…

And if your squad upon coming across this tweet doesn’t get the reference, refer to this tweeter’s reply to the original tweet…

Hate to disagree, but I don’t think we could ever progress enough to ever outgrow Shakespeare – we are constantly recycling story ideas from his plays again and again. If I may use Romeo & Juliet as an example, I can probably name about ten forbidden romance stories off the top of my head! My point is: as long as stories are still alive, we are never too old or even too cool for Shakespeare. Period.

Purest = Protect At All Costs!

You want all your favorite literary characters to be happy, don’t you? Even for the ones that just can’t seem to get their own happiness? Answer: especially so. Now, those are the ones that you are really rooting for in their own pursuit of happiness…

So, take this tweet as a little reminder of appreciation for the characters who try their hardest but somehow come up short, whether in the long run or right away. I know I feel frustrated a lot of the time for the purest characters who get the short end of the stick in their endeavors and/or for their good intentions! Take a moment now to wish your kindest in soul characters all the best on their individual journeys – or perhaps pray for them if they happen to be on the other side…

Now, on a much lighter note, before you leave this article as we have reached the end, I will leave you with this reminiscent question that no doubt you have turned over in your mind at least once or twice in your (reading) life…
