Bookish Tweets Shelved From National Library Week (DELUXE)

When you have something in your hair but you don’t feel like using your hands to get it out, even if the love of your life and the one holding them captive strongly advise you not to… Oh Orpheus, Madonna called back on Earth: She wants her pose back, so stop striking it!

Well, well, well: very long time, no see, my patient bookish tweeters! Again, sincere apologizes for the lack of bookish tweets in such a long time, but have no fear: The tweets are now all here!

Before we get started, it’s worth noting that this tweets-piece will only include tweets from the past month up to and including National Library Week (also, happy long-belated National Library Week!), but will not include last week’s or any of today’s tweets, as those will be saved for another tweets-piece coming out later this week, so hang on tight for those.

So, with all that said and without further ado, let us power on through these dusty, shelved-away bookish tweets that week (and the ones that came before it) left us with…

A Bad Case of Whiplash

When you have something in your hair but you don’t feel like using your hands to get it out, even if the love of your life and the one holding them captive strongly advise you not to…

Oh Orpheus, Madonna called back on Earth: She wants her pose back, so stop striking it!

Flaw in the System

When you have that one folder on your computer that you forgot to get rid of…

I won’t say which one it is, but I’m sure we’re all thinking it…

Young and Beautiful Dreamer

This goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway: We’ve all had big dreams at some point in our lives to have completed by a certain age (let’s say 30), and for some of us, that time is just a few years ahead of us, so what do you plan to do by that time? Here are just a few pointers…

Be careful not to be a “beautiful little fool” of a dreamer now, you hear? (Also, extra points if you got the reference to one of the songs on the Great Gatsby movie remake soundtrack in this tweet’s title!)

Ides of March: Spoiler-Free Edition

Welcome back to our long-going “Spoiler-Free Edition” series! As a reminder of what we do for this series, we take a classic literary work and give you some spoilers of what happens but all without any context – you know, in case you’re still in the middle of reading said work.

Yes, I am aware that this certain play is coming long after the date marking Ides of March (as in March 15th in real time), but I could argue that Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar could be read and cherished all year-round! So, if you are reading it, let’s see what you have to look forward to…

Hmmm, I think I’m sensing a theme here. Not sure what it is though. Anyone here know what it is? Anyone? Bueller? Caes– oh wait, never mind

Understanding the Misunderstood Loner

When you try to comfort your often-misunderstood friend, but to them, you still come off as not understanding…

Geez, you didn’t have to put it like that. Sorry I asked… Why don’t you have any other friends again?

The Omen Whisperer

Do you know someone who’s like this?

Well, at least they’re talking to someone! That’s good: I was starting to get worried!

Send Out the Clown

When you’re in a group of friends, do you ever assign certain roles to each other? And I don’t just mean in a D&D campaign – like in real life? As in, you refer to them as certain types of characters as though you all were in a movie or show – or perhaps even a play…

Come on, don’t tell me you haven’t thought about it at least once!

A Gift to Be Treasured

When someone gives you an unexpected gift and you decide to keep it just because

Oh, you didn’t think you were gonna see another Trojan Horse-related tweet, did ya? Because after all, why not? Why shouldn’t we have another one?

Art Appreciation Time (Inspired by Classic Lit)

Are you someone who appreciates fine art? How about only the finest of fine art? Well then, look no further but just down below and click away…

To comment on the last work of art: talk about a very fine specimen to gaze upon!

A Sight For Sore Eyes To See

When you low-key wish that one of your favorite classic lit authors was still alive today…

Maybe it’s for the best that he didn’t, but even if he did live in our time, he would’ve only had the music and sound effects to fall back on, so maybe that would be just enough…

Just One More…

When you praise yourself for having the most self-control out of everyone you know…

Oh, come on: just one more person to wall up! You deserve a treat… (Disclaimer: Please don’t.)

The Most Unreliable of Them All

When you list off all the reasons why you love a particular piece of fiction so much…

You just can seem to trust any bird anymore, can you? And yes indeed, it’s another tweet about “The Raven”! Would you ask me to stop, I’ll only be like the raven and reply, “Nevermore”!

The True Price of Truth

When you want to hear the truth but also don’t want to hear the truth…

The truth shall set you free but may end up in everyone dying, so… it’s your call.

An Opportunity Macmissed

I just wonder if this ever occurred to anybody, shower thought or not…

That’s it. I’ll just leave it like this.

Me Talk Pretty One Day… Any Day Now!

I’m sure we’ll all experience this after we get vaccinated and cleared for social interaction…

Makes sense. My peers do say they can’t math or English, so this may be legit talking English…

Oh, the Places We’ve Read!

When you find out that the fictional setting in your favorite author’s novels is an actual place…

Isn’t it uncanny how a lot of real-life places inspire the places where our favorite stories are set? Oh, not so uncanny? I’d like to see a real-life magic school for witches and wizards please!

Send in These Clowns

Just to bring up clowns again, don’t you think that clowns have been often depicted as something that is a far cry from how they actually are? I mean, this depiction right here is case in-point…

You know, they just aren’t what they used to be…

A Creator of Many Things

It’s hard finding a job nowadays. I can tell you from personal experience how hard it can be, especially when you don’t have that much experience in what you want to do for a living.

I’ll say that once you nail down exactly what you want to do – like what niche or specialty you’re going for to start – then you’re already a good mile of the way there to where you’re thinking of shooting for! Plus, in interviews, it’s always best to start out small…

…though it really helps if you could maybe elaborate on your accomplishments, great or small – you know, to demonstrate your skills, of course! Also, as a fellow content creator myself, I approve! (We’re all content creators in one sense or another, right?)

A Grade-A Scene

Sometimes, it’s hard to deal with people who don’t like the same things you do. However, there is one thing I think we can all agree to like…

If this story were turned into a movie, the actors should be given Oscars just for this scene!

A Rotten Crowd All-Around

Socially-deprived extraverts literally minutes after getting the vaccine…

Seriously, some people don’t understand how to handle a good thing responsibly!

And finally, here’s our last bookish tweet, which is all too relatable not to be included…

When Will You Learn…?

When you put off your tasks till the last minute and the guilt literally catches up to you…

And also, me when all the bookish tweets pile up after being MIA for a while. It’s perfect in accurately depicting how late I’ve been on the pieces. See you this Friday with the next one!
