Bookish Tweets For The Middle Of July, Chapter One

You know Shazam, right? It’s great for identifying songs playing in the background, right? Well, what if we had this for people… You’d never have to wonder why certain people look so familiar but you just can’t place them ever again!

What is up, my loyal bookish tweeters? And happy middle of July! May I ask just where all the time went?! Now is about the time to wonder how to get a tan and exercise when you’re confined to the comfort of your own home – yes, that’s a bit of an oxymoron right there – or maybe even just how to find enough time in the day to juggle taking an online summer class for the next month with finding your next big (virtual) job that doesn’t require a college degree, on top of making sure your younger relative completes all their online summer camp work…

Okay, maybe that second part is just me. Well, regardless of what the case may be for you during these trying and most unusual times, these bookish tweets – which were actually last week’s – are bound to make it better for you and take some of that stress away… Also, it is worth noting that it has been exactly one whole year since I started writing for Bookstr, so consider this a special piece that celebrates this great milestone of my career! With all that said, let’s get to it…

Oh, before we start with the tweets from last week, take a gander at this tweet that actually came out on July 4th, the day of my previous bookish tweets piece

A Fight That Must Be Fought

Sometimes, we have to take of things in life that we just really don’t want to take care of, all for the sake of duty…

…no matter how unusual or even futile those things may be to take care of…

Now, on with the regularly scheduled tweets!

Robots, You Have One (More) Job

You know how you’re struggling to write the story you’ve got stuck in your head – for years even – and you have a site like Pinterest that allows you to pick out the pics of what you want your characters to look like, where they live, what clothes they wear, and what they believe in?

I mean, we are living in the “Digital Age,” so why can’t it take some of the pressure off us and write the book we have visualized in the form of a Pinterest board for us?? In fact, that actually was why I signed up for Pinterest in the first place! And I never looked back…

A Long-Awaited Appearance

Don’t you have those days when you’re gone for a very long time, then when you finally come out of hiding, everyone is just so shocked to see you? (My fellow introverts, you know what I’m talking about…)

I’m sure this will be how everyone feels once the lockdown is officially over and feels safe enough to come out into the world, with extra masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer on hand when needed…

An Overactive Imagination

Ever got chastised for daydreaming too much, always staring out the window and thinking about your inner fantasy world? Don’t feel too bad: just learn from the best, most imaginative thinker there ever was…

Well, you can’t argue with someone who created an entire middle earth fantasy world complete with twelve separate elven languages, not to mention a whole new genre of fiction with a current following of a million readers!

Oh, The Nerve!

You know when you like someone and really want someone to like you back, yet he falls for someone else who doesn’t even like them back in the slightest…

…oh yeah, and that person you crush falls for happens to be your sister? Crazy coincidence, but all too common…

Come Back Never

I’m sure everyone can relate to having someone in their life that they just want to avoid at all costs? Am I wrong??

Well, did those costs include faking your own death? (Please don’t raise your hand…)

Money Is No Object

Flattery will get you nowhere, but bribery…

…could very much save your life and the theater…

The Best ID One Could Possibly Ask For!

You know Shazam, right? It’s great for identifying songs playing in the background, right? Well, what if we had this for people…

You never have to wonder why certain people look so familiar but you just can’t place them ever again! (It could also be good for finding kings’ murderers or even people’s long-lost sons and/or brothers…)

And lastly, a bonus tweet treat, just for you for making it all the way to the middle of this month, as well as the end of this piece…

Bonus Tweet: Which One Are You?

When you identify with iconic literary shut-ins but you don’t know which one that you’re more alike to…

Either you get a complete makeover, the chance to go to the ball, and talking animals, or you get a burned-up castle, a weekly trip to go into town where everyone hates you, and a black cat named Jonas. It’s your choice…
