Bookish Tweets For International Women’s Day (DELUXE)

Happy International Women’s Day to all the wonderful, incredible ladies out there and to all my Bookish Tweeters here!

I apologize for being M.I.A. for so long, but to make up for it, here is a deluxe batch of bookish tweets that I’m sure will give you more than enough inspiration and confidence to conquer the world without any fear of anything that may be standing in your way… and also to read all these classics while you still can.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the enlightening tweets…

Too Easy

I can only imagine what being a police officer would be like: searching endlessly for clues to convict someone you highly suspect of a heinous crime, bombarding them with interrogative questions to try to get the truth of them no matter the trouble…

…or one could just wait it out until the victim’s conscience gets the better of them and they end up admitting to the whole crime. Maybe it was easier than I thought it would be!

Oh, The Humanity… In Fiction

I’ve talked about this before, no doubt, but I just can’t stress enough how much I despise those moments when writers kill off my favorite fictional characters, so to those writers, I say…

Don’t get me wrong: I’ll still read your works, but please spare us some mercy and our favorite characters – and yes, even if they serve the main characters in the long run or the overall story. If you want to keep your readers, keep our favorite characters alive and well!

In The Name Of Love

When you know the love of your life too well…

After all, they were never like this before you both killed the Scottish king to secure the throne along with fame and glory, so this must be serious!

The Way Of Self-Love

Now, as a concerned human being, I ask you: “When was the last time you really took care of yourself?” Then, allow me to suggest something like this…

“What about the monster’s well-being?” you may ask. Well, that’s for the monster to worry about, and you just focus on yours.

The Bystander Effect

Have you ever heard of “The Bystander Effect”? It’s when you watch one person bully another, or even when you watch a fight break out before your very eyes, and you do nothing about it. What’s worse is when you see other people around you watching the same thing and maybe even cheering them on, which is just disgusting to see. But this is a whole other level of disgusting…

And in case you haven’t read ‘A Raisin In The Sun,’ which is one of my favorite plays and one I highly recommend by the way, Lena is their mother, so seeing her grown children like this without interfering at all? Unbelievably horrific… and even ridiculous.

Mine Is Better Than Yours

No matter how many times I’ve talked about this in my previous tweets-pieces, I have to admit that every friend group looks different. In fact, I’ll bet you that yours doesn’t look like this…

And in case you’re opening up your group for newbies, you might have to wait until everyone is vaccinated before you consider getting an Earl of Gloucester anytime soon!

The Eye Of The Beholder

I’m sure you’ve heard the expression “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” before. Even though this may be the case in order to truly understand a person for who they really are, how you look can get you far… yet only so much, so I urge you to not rely on it too much…

Unless you’re adamant about getting to know Pennywise here, then a mere look could just about save your life!

To Rant Or Not To Rant

When you rant so much to your friend about something that you end up tiring yourself out…

Ranting: the best form of therapy there is for anyone conflicted with exposing any member of their family of treason and borderline incest.

The Guest You Shouldn’t Invite

What’s the best way to keep your social life thriving while also your affair with the love of your life of almost five years a secret? Maybe not this…

Oh Gatsby, you couldn’t keep it under wraps this one time, could you? I think his love for Daisy and the party buzz got to his head.

Who’s The Real Villain Here?

There’s always that villain who doesn’t think they’re a villain, even though it’s very clear to us that they are…

The funny thing is though is that Claudius has no reasonable justification for doing what he had to do: He killed his own brother to be king of Denmark and get with his wife, even if it meant putting up with an emo version of his son because of it.

No wonder he deserves all this hate, because it’s only the best villains who can reasonably justify themselves (to a certain extent) for their crimes who are still beloved to this day for being great villains.

The Wedding We’ve Always Wanted

When you just can’t wait to get married anymore, even when you know everyone in both your families would straight-up disapprove…

I’m sure this one really hits home for all the couples who decided to jump into getting married when the quarantining started just last year, so to the readers in those couples reading this right now, kudos to you all and wishes to lifelong marriages that won’t end by poison or daggers!

Rumor Has It…

Some say rumors can kill, and many others agree, and you know what? They’re right. And if you won’t take it from me, just ask this local gossiper…

…or just cut all your landline wires and destroy your cell for much better protection!

Speaking Of Gossip…

When your partner doesn’t trust you enough to only take unsolicited hearsay from an unreliable source as Gospel truth…

Who’s the unfaithful one now?

An Unseen Wink

When we the audience know not to trust a certain character in a play unfolding before us…

I can only imagine the stage direction for that certain gesture. Something like: [Aside wink of traitorous intent to audience.]

A Betrayal You Can’t Ignore

No matter how many betrayals you have ever experienced in this life, nothing could ever come close to a betrayal quite like this…

Then again, how can you compete with a funeral for a beloved mule?

The Friar’s Philosophy

When you accept what you can’t control and just go with it…

You can fight it, or you embrace it… or maybe greet it with indifference.

What’s Been Here The Whole Time

When you try to be like someone else, but you know you just can’t compete…

Note: You get extra credit just for trying to sing along to all of that!

The Greatest Actor Who’s Ever Lived

Have you ever encountered someone in an acting exercise or even a full-on play who you know is gonna get far in life, even as far as on-stage on Broadway? Better luck if they’re this good…

…but you should warn them about the dangers that fame on the theater stage will likely bring them, because otherwise, this could end with them hallucinating so bad they’ll start to see spots.

Dress For Success

Speaking of spots, you’d better get vaccinated ASAP but only when it is your time to get vaccinated, and when you do, you have to look the part to succeed in a post-COVID world…

Halfoween is coming up… (And yes, I am aware that this is the second Macbeth tweet in a row.)

Something There

Have you ever read or watched something as a little kid, and as you grew older, you began looking at it in a completely different light so you can never see it the way you did before? Now, try this on for size…

It does give us that ending that the original story didn’t give us before, so that’s definitely part of the “something there that wasn’t there before.” (Yeah, I know: different Disney movie.)

And now, the bookish tweet you’ve all been waiting for: one that came out just today that is comparably much more lighthearted since I know you all deserve it…

A Different Kind Of Heartworm

You know how the term “bookworm” originated from someone who loved reading so much they just straight-up ate up all the words? Well, think that but with someone’s heart…

Ah yes: the “I love you” of Shakespeare’s time…

And congrats on making it this far, so now make your mark in the world so you can go this far (and beyond) too!
