Bookish Tweets For All The Virtual Graduates To Enjoy

If you or someone you know would happen to be one of the lucky grads to come out of this unexpected final semester, congratulations: you’ve completed your time at school – whether high school or college – during these “uncertain times”! While I decided not to graduate from college this semester and instead will be graduating in the fall, I’m so happy for the rest of my peers who made it through to the other side, even if the other side may be what we all expected it to look.

Graduates, you should be proud! So, how about some bookish tweets to raise your spirits even higher – and to give you lots of luck for you in your job search?!

Just Get To The Point

Don’t you just hate it when someone keeps dragging out the story they’re telling and just want them to get to the bottom of it so we can move on?

Oh wait, that was actually Victor Hugo’s MO, wasn’t it? This sentence just about sums it up…

You gotta love all those tangents and digressions…

Rock Bottom

Feeling down? What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue?

Bird got your liver? Don’t worry: it’s only just for, you know, all of eternity… (That is, until Hercules breaks you out, but let’s not bother to mention that right now…)

The Joys Of Spectating

More times than not, it’s much more fun to watch a fight unfold instead actually being a part of the fight. Come on, you can admit it…

Yet if it’s one fight out of many you’ve seen time and time again with the same feuding families, it can get tiresome after a while… Just stick to the WWE.

The Inescapable Fixation

Bookworms one and all, tell me you can’t relate to this…

I mean, you can’t not think about the characters and what’s going to happen to them! It’s just downright impossible… unless you’re one of these characters…

The characters are only alive if the reader, i.e., you, can make them out to be – while and after reading. It’s the circle of literary life…

Before you continue ahead, a “break tweet” in-between…

You better have retweeted that. Anyway, now you may go forward with the rest of the tweets…

Mandatory Life Requirements

It’s a common belief in that by each age in one’s life, they should have acquired a list of certain things – things considered important for living an easy life – like an age-specific bucket list of sorts. Take this set of requisites to complete/obtain by age 40…

Seems reasonable enough, right? I would’ve gone with having travelled to a few countries and even landed a steady job as well as a special someone by my side, but hey, it’s not for everyone!

In fact, here are a few others tacked onto the earlier set…

…though in the case of some, there are certain ones with extra context that needs explaining…

(This reply is the start of a long thread, so only click if you wouldn’t mind a bit of a lengthy read in regards to Great Expectations!)

So, my advice to you, most recent graduates of online learning, is just stick to your guns and don’t let anyone else tell you how to live your life by each age of your life! (But of course, strive to surpass 40!)

How To Succeed In Virtual Book-Clubbing (While Really Trying)

Perhaps you might find a beneficial side-gig in hosting completely virtual book clubs – if you haven’t been doing that already – and you get paid by your patrons for putting together all the resources needed for a good time and discussion on books, aside from compliments and the promise to see each other online again! Watch PRH’s latest #BookHacks vid to find out more…

Happy reading and book-clubbing!

Dedication At Its Finest

How do you show someone you like them, without actually telling them so? Take Gatsby, for example…

I mean, that’s just the Gatsby way! Any other way would be unthinkable.

But for real though, this definitely shows dedication if I ever saw it. I would for sure be taken aback if I ever found out that someone did all of that for me! Now, that is romance. Of course, I would only be caught by the surprise of it all if I only got a hint of what was going on… but still, this was just one way to show love, and while it may not be solid, the heart is still in there.

And now, for a few special bonus tweets…

Bonus Tweet #1: Reading Is For Everyone – And I Mean Everyone

When you want to have your pets join in on the fun of reading…

Nothing wrong with that! Just try not to let them distract you with having to pet them every five seconds while you’re in the middle of a good part. I know my cat does that to me a lot – whether it’s with pleasure-reading or studying for a class quiz the next day!

Bonus Tweet #2: When Life Has Other Plans (Warning: Relatability Overload!)

We all know the feeling: you start out the new year with your best intentions to create a new and better you, and life seems to have more important plans than yours…

Well, that’s especially the case for this year in particular! But as long as you’re reading the year away – and this goes for any year – then it definitely is a year worth spent…

And finally, to cap off this article, specially dedicated to our virtual graduates, here is a special vid for all of the bookish graduates looking to get into publishing one day – as I am planning to do – but cannot get an official in-office book tour…

I would say personally that the only thing wrong with that video is that it hasn’t been stretched out to its full potential! To think, it was almost perfect…

Again, congrats to the virtual grads, and best of luck on finding jobs in our new normal!
