Hello, Bookish Tweeters! Happy Mother’s Day and tail end of Teacher’s Appreciation Week…

Mothers and teachers alike (perhaps you’re one or both!) give so much for their children and/or students to grow from and live by later in life, so what better way to say thanks than by giving them these lovely bookish tweets to enjoy (especially the English teachers who live and die by the classics)?

(Note: Since I skipped covering the tweets last week due to a lack of tweets to supply you with, I’ll be covering tweets from this week and last, bringing it all to a total of 10 tweets!)

With all that said, let’s not keep the life- and light-bearers waiting…

The Foreboding

In my own experience with reading – the classics or not – whenever a certain book’s title starts with “the,” that’s when you know that there is something off (or at least interesting) about that thing the book is titled after…

Try this with any book out there, and tell me if I’m wrong. I dare you! Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor… in proving me wrong. (You do realize a big part of the inspiration behind The Hunger Games comes from “The Lottery,” right??)

Gone But Not Forgotten…

When you hope everyone forgot that embarrassing thing you did back in middle school but it comes back to haunt you…

You know, people can change! (Technically a phantom, or even a person with half a face hidden behind a mask, but still!)

Shame On You (For Shaming Me)

When you get shamed for your lifestyle choices you can’t go back and change…

Hey, mind your own business! You have your own ways of expressing yourself, and I have my mine, which happen to contradict one another, but hey, life happens…

Extreme Makeover: King Edition

Thinking you could change your man into someone entirely new? If you must, don’t let this happen to you…

It may not be every day when he will be attacked the woods, and get slain and beheaded by “a man not born of woman,” but you can never be too careful to take all the proper precautions!

Which One Are You??

When you’re about to take an online quiz and you try to figure out which character that you’re the most/more like…

For me, I’m always torn between two or more characters no matter what, whether I see myself in so many of them or if they’re all so relatable in one way or another, but in this case, I’m probably most like Balthasar in that I’m only doing my best and don’t really get invited to be in someone else’s story unless I do a few things here or there to serve the main characters. (Don’t judge me.)

This vs. That: The Choice Is Yours!

Just knowing the author of the works you’re reading and how they write commonly-used tropes or characters can make a huge difference in how you read their works. Case in-point…

Again, knowing who wrote which makes all the difference!

Two Young Hearts

When you want bae to tag along wherever you go…

…though it ends up being Achilles’ fatal flaw: by bringing Patroclus straight into danger.

What A Mom Wants

More than anything else in the world, every mom wants her child to be happy, so if you’re still scrambling to get her a gift for this Mother’s Day, just keep this mind and get her something you know she wants…

It’s the two-in-one deal every mother could ever want! Or in this case, five-in-one deal!

Gone but Not Forgotten?

When a death of a loved one in your family suddenly occurs and you live in a small town, chances are that everyone will likely hear about it before you even tell them, and will treat the news as gracefully as possible (in their own way) by offering you their condolences and doing whatever they can to make sure their legacy is cherished…

…unless you live in this small town, that is.

Guess Who’s Back… Back Again!

When you think you’ve ditched someone for good and they come back and better than ever…

Now the party don’t start till Hamlet walks in… (Bloodshed, that is!)

Be sure to give your well-deserving mothers and teachers a lot of love this weekend and try not to laugh too hard at these classic tweets!
