It’s official: Bob Dylan will not be traveling to Sweden to receive his controversial Nobel Prize in Literature.News broke from the Associated Press that the singer was unable to attend, but he did send a speech!
A speech, that, if his previous behavior is any indication, will be brief, cryptic, and evasive.
This is likely the third and final public flake out on Dylan’s part. Just weeks ago, he failed to show up to the White House for the Nobel meet and greet, despite Obama’s praise of Dylan’s work.
Fortunately, the banquet on December 10th will not be bereft of a Dylan tune. Patti Smith is set to perform Bob’s 1963 classic, ‘A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall’.
