Big Little Lies

‘Big Little Lies’ Paying Stars $1 Million Per Episode for Season 2

Big Little Lies, the HBO mini-series based on Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, is officially coming back for a second season, and the stars of the show have negotiated some killer paychecks.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman will be receiving $1 million per episode, while Zoe Kravitz and Shailene Woodley are also receiving more money, though the exact amount has not been disclosed.

As the show was originally planned as a seven-episode series, the pick up for the second season allowed the stars to negotiate their salaries off the back of some extreme success. The huge per-episode paychecks could be blamed on the Golden Globes or the Emmys, but Reese Witherspoon’s reporting $1.25 million per episode salary for an untitled dramatic project with Apple definitely had something to do with it.

Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon were reported to receive between $250,000 and $350,000 for the entirety of season one, without including producer fees.

If the influx of money tells us anything, it’s that season two of Big Little Lies is going to be absolutely insane.
