“Prince: A Private View”, a collection of epic photography by Afshin Shahidi, will feature a foreword by singer Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Before Prince’s passing in April 2016, he had shared a friendly rapport with Beyoncé. The two of them appeared together at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards and opened the show with a medley of songs from both singers. Since this memorable duet, Beyoncé has covered Prince’ songs on numerous occasions, including his “The Beautiful Ones” during her performance at Glastonbury in 2011. With their mutual enthusiasm for creating great music, it is unsurprising that Beyoncé would be willing to share some inspirational thoughts on Prince and his legendary tunes.

“Truth be told, the word ‘icon’ only scratches the surface of what Prince was and what he remains to me,” wrote Beyoncé in the foreword, as reported by the Entertainment Weekly.
Shahidi has been a longtime connection of Prince, starting from 1989 when the former became the latter’s cinematographer. Since then, he has been the closest photographer for Prince in his last 15 years of life.
This photo book is due to hit shelves on October 17, 2017.
